SERVICE

The Service

We begin the evening with a meal, followed by a worship service with contemporary worship music, a recovery-focused, biblical teaching or recovery testimony.

The service is followed by a 30-minute “open share” time in which people can share what is on their hearts in a small group setting. The fourth Thursday of every month is Anniversary Night. It is a time in which we celebrate lengths of sobriety by handing out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes we have made in our lives.

Jimmy Hagerman

Pastor

Jimmy committed theft, burglary, and eventually drug dealing as a means of bankrolling his next high. He cycled through federal and state probations, jail, boot camp, rehab, and court-ordered 12-step meetings. At the end of his rope and back in jail for trafficking in cocaine and heroin, a Bible verse learned long ago impressed itself vividly upon his mind, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” Trusting in the gospel promise of pardon from sin’s punishment and release from Satan’s power, Jimmy surrendered himself wholly unto God. With enablement by God’s grace to move on from the wreckage of his past, Jimmy’s passion today is to share the message of forgiveness and freedom made available through the death, burial, resurrection and eternal reign of Jesus Christ. He has earned a B.A. in Christian Ministry at Midwestern Baptist College, a M.Div. in Biblical Languages at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently serving as pastor of Recovery Church Nashville.

Megan & Mark Allen

Worship Leaders

Megan grew up in Kentucky, moving to Nashville in 2018 to work in the music industry as a royalty administrator. Megan came to know the Lord at a young age, and has a passion for the Word and desires all to know God's truths and promises of grace, freedom, and victory in Christ. She has been singing in church all of her life, and has a heart for worship. Megan has been involved with Recovery Church Nashville since it's launch in 2020, and is blessed to co-lead alongside her husband, Mark.

Mark spent most of his formative years in Tennessee, yet moved to NYC to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Mark has had many successes in his career and has been honored to have his work on many stages and television, both national and international, and even on Broadway in 2018. In 2020, the Lord so graciously freed Mark from alcohol addiction through a rehab center in Tennessee and brought him as a humbled congregant to the newly formed Recovery Church Nashville. Along the way, God drew Mark to an opportunity to serve at RCN as a worship leader and teacher as well as to sponsoring several men who struggle with the same darkness and shame.

Mark and Megan are truly in love with Jesus and are passionate about pointing sinners, saints and wanderers of all types toward the incredible saving grace of Jesus and recovery.
