FINDING FREEDOM IN CHRIST
A Church Created BY the Recovery Community FOR the Recovery Community
Thursdays @ 7:00 PM
4916 Franklin Pike
Nashville, TN 37220
We begin the service with contemporary worship music, followed by a sermon or testimony and then a 30-minute “open share” time in which people can share what is on their hearts in a small group setting. The fourth Thursday of every month is Anniversary Night. It is a time in which we celebrate lengths of sobriety by handing out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes we have made in our lives.
Jimmy committed theft, burglary, and eventually drug dealing as a means of bankrolling his next high. He cycled through federal and state probations, jail, boot camp, rehab, and court-ordered 12-step meetings. At the end of his rope and back in jail for trafficking in cocaine and heroin, a Bible verse learned long ago impressed itself vividly upon his mind, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” Trusting in the gospel promise of pardon from sin’s punishment and release from Satan’s power, Jimmy surrendered himself wholly unto God. With enablement by God’s grace to move on from the wreckage of his past, Jimmy’s passion today is to share the message of forgiveness and freedom made available through the death, burial, resurrection and eternal reign of Jesus Christ. He has earned a B.A. in Christian Ministry at Midwestern Baptist College, a M.Div. in Biblical Languages at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently serving as pastor of Recovery Church Nashville.
