SERVICE

The Service

Recovery Church Austin meets every Tuesday at 7pm. Our meeting location is 8001 Mesa Drive, Austin 78731. We begin the service with worship music, followed by a testimony or sermon. We conclude our service with a time of "open share". The last Tuesday of each month is Anniversary/Baptism night. It is a time when we celebrate new birth and lengths of sobriety. We hand out crosses as tangible reminders of the changes God has made in our lives.

Jeff Jakobeit

Servant Leader

I was born and raised in the Lutheran Church, turned to the bottle as my idol. I got sober on June 7, 2017. ordained in 2020, and been preaching ever since.

Mike Tomlinson

Servant Leader

After years of seeking peace, acceptance, and fulfillment through alcohol, drugs, and many other things, Mike found himself in a place of total desperation; finally admitting his helplessness and powerlessness. Brought to his knees through a series of events, he cried out to God for help and committed to work the 12 steps of recovery with all his heart. He started down the road to recovery in the rooms of AA and the local church. He fully committed to this program of recovery, and the Lord's leading in his life, and had a "spiritual awakening as the result of these steps". When he fully surrendered and allowed Jesus Christ Lord to be the Lord of his life, he began to experience a freedom that he'd never experienced before.

For the last 20+ years, God has allowed him to work with many men and women in Christ Centered recovery settings, as well as secular 12 step recovery programs. In 2015, he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel. Further testament to the Lord's Grace is his amazing wife of 40+ years, Marsha, two beautiful daughters, and 1 precious granddaughter.
