THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

(All leaders are listed alphabetically by first name)

Chaplain Neil Ainslie

Campus Lead

Chaplain and current president of Yehoshua INC in Bluffton - A homeless ministry dedicated to helping people get out of homelessness

Chris Koiner

Servant Leader

I was born into a Christian household and attended Christian school most of my life. In my teens, I struggled with depression, but found my strength to carry on through Jesus Christ. I currently work in addiction recovery as I believe the Lord has called me to that field. I believe that through Jesus Christ, anyone can find the strength to recover from anything they are facing. I am humbled that the Lord chose me to help bring others to Him.

Gene Gonzalez

Servant Leader

My name is Eugene Gonzalez, but I go by Gene. I am 68 years old this year, and time really does seem to fly by.

I was born in Colombia in 1958 and migrated to the United States when I was around 5 years old. My father came first to learn English, attend school, and work so he could bring the rest of our family over, including my two brothers, sister, and me. After converting to Evangelical Christianity in Colombia, my father faced heavy opposition in a largely Catholic society at that time. Because of the threats our family experienced, he made the decision to move to America for the freedoms so many take for granted.

Growing up in Fort Wayne, church attendance was mandatory in our home, and during my rebellious teenage years it often felt like a burden. Even so, the truth of Christ had been planted deep in my heart, though I thought I knew better.

I chose a path of alcohol, drugs, and destructive living, which eventually led to addiction, jail, divorce, guilt, and sorrow. But our Savior never gave up on me. It was only when I reached the bottom that I finally looked up and cried out to God for help.

I still have a long journey ahead of me, but I no longer fear it because God is with me and strengthens me every step of the way.

Larry Young

Greeter / Servant Leader

Hi my name is Larry.  My story starts out like most people.  I was lost and broken. I started going to church in Search of answers but not the answers most people go to church for.  I had no intention of becoming a Christian.   I just wanted to save my marriage and not break up my home.  Little did I know I would soon get more than I expected.   Not only did I save my marriage and became best friends with my wife, but I also saved my soul from the depths of hell.  I'm now a child of God and a leader in my church where I hope to lead others to Christ.  I pray that my testimony can show others the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Pastor Nate Morrow

Servant Leader

My name is Nate Morrow, and I currently serve as a pastor at Christian New Light Church. I have not always lived this way. I did not grow up in church, and I started using drugs and alcohol at 11 years old. Over the years, I was locked up several times. I spent time in juvie, jail, and prison. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol from the age of 11 until I was 24 years old.

I accepted Christ at 21, just before going to prison, and from that point on, God began redeeming my life. Today, I have been married for over 20 years. My wife and I have six children and seven grandchildren. All I can say is, to God be the glory.

Zachary Hughett

Servant Leader

I was addicted to drugs from the ages of 13 to 35. I used substances to cope with depression, anxiety, stress, and the problems in my life. In 2011, I received my first dealing charge and continued using while in prison. After getting out, I was sober, but not truly in recovery, and I eventually fell back into addiction and returned to prison multiple times.

While sitting in county jail after another arrest, I had a conversation with another man about God and my past. He told me I needed to let go of the guilt I carried and give it to Jesus. That night, I cried out to God and fully surrendered my life to Him. God showed me that I was forgiven, taught me how to renew my mind, and revealed that my identity is in Christ, not in my addiction or my past.

In June 2020, I was sentenced to 16 years with Purposeful Incarceration. During that time, I stayed focused on God through prayer, His Word, and fellowship. I completed Recovery While Incarcerated and worked through the 12 Steps with Jesus as the foundation of my recovery. God restored relationships with my family, especially with my wife and children.

Three years later, I was released 7 years early. Since then, I have continued growing in my relationship with Jesus and learning how to overcome temptation through the tools God has given me. Today, I know I am a child of God, and Jesus is the only thing that truly healed the brokenness behind my addiction.
