SERVICE

The Service

We begin the service with a welcome and greet one another with a handshake, a high five, or a hug followed by a time of contemporary worship and prayer. We share Recovery Community announcements and then move into a time of either a message or testimony. We end with offering of “surrender” crosses, some final thoughts, and then encourage people to hang around to meet others and get a sponsor/sponsee. The first Monday of every month is Anniversary Night. It is a time in which we have a guest speaker and celebrate lengths of sobriety by handing out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes we have made in our lives. The second Monday of the month is an “open share” meeting.

We look forward to having you with us and walking with you wherever you may be on your recovery journey

Jimmy Braddock

Pastor

After years of seeking peace, acceptance, and fulfillment alcohol and lots of other things, I found myself in a place of total despair. It was a place of helplessness and hopelessness and I didn't want to live anymore. Through a series of events, I cried out to God to help me or let me die. I wanted and expected the latter BUT GOD had other plans. I ended up in a treatment facility for a short time and started down the road to recovery in the rooms of AA. After a few years of working the steps, sponsoring men, and plenty of service work, something started to stir and I became restless. I had fully committed to this program of recovery and had had a "Spiritual awakening as the result of these steps"but I had not fully surrendered to the God who had delivered me from that hopeless state. When I fully surrendered and allowed the Lord to have His way with me, I began to experience a freedom that I'd never experienced before. One of my favorite definitions of recovery is to restore something to a state of usefulness. With this new freedom, came new purpose. For the last 15+ years God has allowed me to work with hundreds of folks in Christ-Centered recovery settings. To see the chains of addiction broken, Moms and Dads/Husbands and Wives/Sons and Daughters delivered from bondage and families restored is an amazing experience. And, for me, an incredible testimony of God's Grace in returning something that was useless to a state of usefulness. Further testament to His Grace is my amazing wife of 30+ years, Julie and my two beautiful adult daughters, Keli and Karis. "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." Acts 20:24
