SERVICE
The Service
Recovery Church E Town will meet every Thursday night from 7:00-8:00 PM at College Heights Methodist Church located at 710 College Street Road in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Services will open with a praise and worship song followed with announcements regarding classes, activities and events related to the church and recovery as well as resources in the community as they lend support to those in recovery. Following announcements, Praise and Worship will follow with three songs (total time for praise and worship and announcements will be approximately 30 minutes). Service will continue with a preaching/teaching as the correlation between the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Bible are taught. Surrender crosses will be given out on every Thursday night. On the last Thursday of the month anniversary crosses will be given out and those in attendance will be offered the opportunity to be baptized. Those choosing baptism will be taken aside prior to being baptized and the biblical meaning of baptism will be given to them as well as a series of questions to ensure they understand what exactly they are doing.

David Wise
Campus Lead
My name is David Wise (aka "Brother Dave") and I was raised in Georgetown, KY. I was born with a birth defect in both ankles leading to an addiction to pain pills. As a result of my addiction I lost my marriage, relationships with children, friends and family members as well as my place standing in the community. After two failed attempts at treatment God led me to a Faith Based Program in Florida. This is where I re-established my relationship with Christ. I was raised in the church but my addiction led me down a path of feeding my fleshly desires and destruction. During this time I came to know Christ in an intimate way and found myself attending Recovery Church. During this time I was mentored by Men of God and shown how to live the life of a Man of God. I assisted in planting two Recovery Churches while in Florida and after six (6) years was called by God to come to my home state and plant Recovery Church E-Town.
My life today is filled with the Joy of being a son to my parents, a father to my children and a grandfather (G-Pop) to my granddaughter. After five and half years of working on my relationship with Christ and not going on a single date, God brought me my amazing Gorgeous wife Darcie. We are Blessed to be Church Planters for Recovery Church as we work side by side spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, freely giving away what was given to us. My verse that I cling to is 2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has passed away, behold, the new has come. As Christ has resurrected me from an addict lost in his own prison, to a man who now mentors others, showing them the steps they can take to have a relationship with Christ themselves, there is now doubt that in Christ Jesus, "the new has come."
