SERVICE
The Service
Recovery Church Gaston meets every Friday at 6:30 PM. We begin the service with relevant worship music, followed by a sermon or testimony and then a 30 minute "open share"time in which people can share what is on their hearts in a small group setting. The last Friday of every month is anniversary night. It is a time in which we celebrate lengths of recovery and hand out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes God has made in our lives.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
(All leaders are listed alphabetically by first name)

Andrew Freden
Pastor
Someone told me they've never had 60 days sober in their life, I laughed! But when I thought about it, I'd never had 30 days in a row of continuous sobriety. I drank and drugged myself into such a hopeless hole, there was absolutely nothing left for my to do but die. Then Christ came, Jesus my Lord...my Savior pulled me out of the hell I was in and I was reborn a new creation!!

Angie Thompson
Transportation Ministry Coordinator
I am so excited to see God work in the lives of the people at RCG. I have worked in the dentistry for over 30 years but my heart is in serving others and telling them what He has done for me. I know that God has sent me to RCG and I feel so blessed to bve part off His body of believers. My daily prayer is that He will put me where He wants me and make me a blessing to someone each day.

Chasty Sanders
Creative Ministry Leader
Chasty Sanders serves as the Creative Ministry Leader at Recovery Church Gaston. She uses her creativity as a bridge to ministry, stepping into different roles to help carry out the vision of RCG. From preparing meals for RCG gatherings to designing T-shirts, managing RCG’s social media, and worshiping through flag dance, Chasty combines artistry and service to point others to Christ. Her work reflects the truth that creativity is a gift best used to serve and uplift others.

Gary Shealy
Servant Leader
God has given me the skills to do carpentry which has been my profession for most of my life. My passions are farming and fishing which I believe are God’s callings on my life. I like to use those passions as opportunities to witness and encourage others. I help with technical needs in the audio and video booth at Recovery Church and I am excited to see God move in this ministry.

Hillary Ford
Servant Leader - RC Kidz
Jesus is at the forefront of all that I do! If you had told me almost a decade ago that I would be doing what I am now, I would've said you were crazy! I was called to ministry by the Lord, and through prayer He revealed to me that He has chosen me to lead a children's ministry. I am honored to serve as a Servant Leader at Recovery Church Gaston. I get to teach children about both mental health and Jesus to begin their healing. As a mother, an advocate for those with substance use disorder, a special needs Teacher Assistant and a Girl Scout Troop Leader, everything I do involves being the positive voice for the children that I come into contact with. He has also led me to pursue a Master of Social Work Degree, to further His Kingdom.

Jennifer Freden
Servant Leader
Through 31 years of struggling with addiction and alcoholism the pain to continue living had become unbearable. Jennifer fell to her knees and surrendered her life to Christ. She experienced the transformative power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in her own life. Working with families that struggle with substance abuse has become her life mission. She's currently serving families locally through a nonprofit organization that her husband and family launched in early 2022. She is a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She had been a member of Recover Church Movement since 2021.

Rose Shealy
Worship Leader
I work as a project manager in the steel construction industry and I help lead worship at Recovery Church. I prayed for God to show me how to reach my community better and this is where He lead me and I can already see HIs hand in this ministry. I am honored to serve along side the team at this location and I look forward to seeing what God will do.
