Pastor Chyrell English is a devoted servant of God, transformational leader, and Senior Pastor of Interwoven Christian Ministries in Sacramento, California—a ministry committed to serving a sober and saved community through the power of Jesus Christ.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Pastor Chyrell’s life is a powerful testimony of redemption, resilience, and restoration. Having overcome deep personal challenges including depression, suicidal struggles, substance abuse, and trauma, she entered the rooms of recovery on April 16, 1988. It was there that she rededicated her life to Christ and began a lifelong journey of healing and purpose. Today, she stands as a beacon of hope for those seeking freedom from addiction and a renewed relationship with God.

Pastor Chyrell and her husband, Joe English—her partner of 37 years—share 38 years of recovery together. Their union reflects God’s unmerited grace and favor, and together they model faith, perseverance, and restoration in both marriage and ministry.

With over 30 years of faithful service in Christian ministry, Pastor Chyrell has served in multiple leadership roles including choir director, Sunday school superintendent, youth pastor, elder, associate pastor, and assistant pastor. For the past seven years, she has faithfully led as Senior Pastor, shepherding a growing ministry with a heart for those often overlooked—especially individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction.

Her academic achievements reflect her commitment to both spiritual and practical leadership. Pastor Chyrell holds a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and a Master of Science in Religious Education from Friends International Christian University. She also earned a Master’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of California, Los Angeles, equipping her with the tools to lead ministry with excellence and vision.

Family is central to Pastor Chyrell’s life and calling. She is the proud mother of two sons, a cherished daughter-in-law, and a loving grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren. She often refers to her family as “power-filled,” a reflection of her deep belief in generational blessing and legacy.
