Recovery Church Orange Park FL

I lived a life of self will for 54 years and inevitably reached the point of pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization. (Page 30 AA big book) I had no hope or purpose left in my life and was too full of guilt and shame to ask God for help. I had given up. God never gave up on me and neither had my wife, daughters, and a few loving relatives and friends. I went to rehab and was introduced to AA and immediately saw the message of honesty, forgiveness, and love through a relationship with God. I am eternally grateful to God for freeing me from my sinful past through the Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with the opportunity to share what he has done for me with others of his flock and to those who are still sick and suffering. He has transformed my life from darkness to light, from anger to joy, and from meaningless to purpose. Helping others find the freedom of forgiveness through the Fatbook, and the Bible, is my passion and purpose. Thank you to Recovery Church for the opportunity to fulfill that mission.

My life is a series of moments of grace that have absolutely nothing to do with me. I can tell you all that I’ve done wrong and how I qualify in the program or as a believer. Everything I have done right and the things I do daily that I believe make me a good Christian, but none of those things are who I am, and they are many, both good and bad. But by far, I worked harder for the wrong. I am a sinner saved by grace. Today, my identity is found in Jesus alone. “Only one life yet soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” (C.T. Studd) One of my many, many, many struggles in life was gambling. And I would prefer to play the odds. I am positive that if I had to do this life again the odds of my survival are a staggering 0.00000000000000001. But all things are possible if the tomb is empty, and today I know that I know this, I do not have a single doubt about who my Savior is. All to him I owe, a debt that I wouldn’t care to repay if I could somehow entertain the notion. I am many things today and many times blessed only through what was done for me 2000 years ago. The best part of it all is the heart I have for those who suffer the same fate I was born into. It ran in the family until it ran into me. Today, I am a servant of the Lord, and I will go where he sends me. There is no doubt this thing I am a part of is divinely orchestrated. I have never been so sure of anything as that a great awakening and revival is coming to this area, and I am greatly humbled to even be part of it.

Michael’s clean date is September 3rd, 2005, and two days later on Labor Day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He went to Trinity College of Florida from 2006 to 2008, which is the same school Billy Graham received his undergraduate degree from. He was a Prison Chaplain for over ten years. He has held many service commitments in NA and AA, and has sponsored dozens of men in both fellowships. He went through the Recovery Church Institute (RCI) program, and attended the Annual Recovery Church Movement (RCM) Conference in March of 2026. Michael and his wife, Linda, live in Orange Park, Florida, and he is very grateful to be fulfilling his calling of being the Campus Leader of the Recovery Church in Orange Park.
