SERVICE
The Service
Recovery Church Portola meets every Saturday at 6:00 PM. We begin the service with worship music, followed by a sermon or testimony and then a 30 minute "open share" time in which people can share what is on their hearts in a small group setting. The last Saturday every month is Anniversary Night. It is a time in which we celebrate lengths of recovery and hand out crosses as a tangible reminder of the changes God has made in our lives.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
(All leaders are listed alphabetically by first name)
Brittany Langston
Servant Leader
Brittany Langston considers it an honor and a blessing to be part of the leadership team at The Recovery Church of Portola, California. She is passionate about Recovery Church because she has experienced the transformative power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in her own life. Brittany became addicted to drugs and alcohol during her teenage years which led to many years of destruction and despair. In her desperation and hopelessness she cried out to God and he delivered her from a life of addiction. Since that moment she has continued to grow in her walk with Jesus and has been actively involved in the recovery community. She now has a beautiful family that’s truly a gift from God. Husband Denver, Daughters Marianna and Oaklyn, and son baby Judah! Brittany was born and raised in Southeast Texas. After visiting Portola nearly 3 years ago, the Langston Family was moved with compassion for the community. After much prayer, they took a giant leap of faith and decided to make the move to California. Brittany and her husband have an overwhelming desire to see lives transformed through the power of Jesus Christ. They believe it is their mission to help addicts and alcoholics find freedom from the bondage of addiction.
Denver Langston
Servant Leader
Denver Langston feels incredibly blessed to be a part of Recovery Church Portola. God delivered him from a life of addiction and bondage, igniting a passion within him to help others find freedom from addiction and build a relationship with Jesus. From a young age, Denver knew he was called to preach the gospel, but his life took a detour into drugs and alcohol. After spending time in prison, he rededicated and surrendered his life to Jesus, diving headfirst into a relationship with Him and attending recovery meetings. God completely transformed his life.
Denver met his wife, Brittany, at an AA meeting, and together they share a passion for reaching out to those struggling with addiction. Denver’s life is a testament to the scripture Joel 2:25, which was prayed over him years ago: “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, and the chewing locust.”
Denver and Brittany now have two children, a son named Judah, and a daughter named Oaklyn. Denver graduated from Capital Bible College in Sacramento, CA, with a degree in Bible and ministry. His heart is dedicated to winning lost souls for the Kingdom of Heaven and evangelizing the gospel, showing the brokenhearted the true love of God.
Kyle Flynn
Servant Leader
The LORD JESUS Christ set me free from the chains and bondage of drunkenness at the end of 2015. I’ve been seeking and following Him ever since. I’m here to testify of the saving power of the LORD JESUS CHRIST which will set anyone free from any and all addictions, if we’ll call on His name in faith and believe His Gospel of Salvation and Peace.
Michael Bonnett
Servant Leader
I have been in Recovery for 36 years, and I know what a battle it is to give up. I could not have done it without God. Jesus is my Savior and has put me in a place to help others to recover. The 12 Steps are a way to forgive ourselves and be the person that God intended us to be. It’s an awesome journey that needs to be shared with others.
Sandy Pruitt
Servant Leader
Sandy gratefully serves others through Recovery Church Portola. She has walked the path of recovery through a certificated training program in ‘Addiction and Recovery’ through Light University, The 12 Steps - A Spiritual Journey, and Celebrate Recovery for 11 years. She said “It is with excitement and gratitude that I get to serve in Recovery Church and testify to what God has done in my life. The journey is hard, but with my Lord, it is so very exciting.”
