SERVICE
The Service
Recovery Church San Jose meets on Thursday at 6:30 PM. We start our service with a time of worship followed by teaching or a testimony and then a time of open sharing. Our service is a safe place to openly share what is on your heart in a group setting. We strive to provide a space where we can learn, share and grow together in community. On the last Thursday of the month we celebrate Anniversary Night. It is a time when we celebrate lengths of recovery and hand out crosses as tangible reminders of the changes God has made in our lives.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
(All leaders are listed alphabetically by first name)
Diana Galloway
Leader
After years of struggling with alcoholism, Diana Galloway finally reached her physical and emotional rock bottom. With the gift of desperation and her family's support, she found her way into the rooms of AA. She realized that no human power could relieve her obsession with drinking, after years of unsuccessful attempts to stop. Seeing that the steps worked for others, she came to believe they might work for her too. With the willingness and belief that maybe God could relieve her of her obsession with drinking, she began working with the program. Diana trusted and prayed to God to guide her through recovery and show her the way to a better life. Her prayers were answered, and she has been sober since May 14, 2016. "I am so grateful that I have dedicated my life to giving back and to being in service to recovery and to God, and I am excited to be a part of the Recovery Church Movement."
Emma Jansen
Leader / Administrator
Emma Jansen is honored to serve as a leader at Recovery Church San Jose. On August 18, 2013, Emma experienced a profound transformation when God intervened in her life, lifting her from addiction and guiding her through a journey of recovery that began with incarceration. Over the years, Emma has embraced the 12 steps and deepened her relationship with God, building a life beyond her wildest dreams. With over a decade of sobriety, she is an active member of the San Jose Fellowship of AA. Emma has long prayed for a way to integrate her recovery and church life, and God answered her prayers by leading her to the Recovery Church Movement. This incredible opportunity has allowed her to help start a fellowship in San Jose, blending her passions and experiences. In her professional life, Emma has been the Office Administrator at Willow Glen Bible Church since 2014. Outside of church and meetings, she enjoys hiking, exploring new places, and attending concerts. Emma is also a proud single mother of a college-aged daughter.
Matt Griffoul
Leader
Matt Griffoul is honored to be part of the leadership team at the Recovery Church of San Jose. Being part of such a powerful and nurturing organization is something Matt has hoped and prayed for for many years. Having experienced the healing and transformative power of having Jesus Christ as his savior, Matt is living free from dependence on alcohol. Because of the love, grace, and forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ, Matt has been able to work in the substance abuse treatment field for many years. Aside from his work at RC San Jose, Matt is teaching and counseling men at City Team in San Jose. Matt is married to his High School sweetheart, Julie, and together they have four children and so far, four grandchildren.
